We wish all dragon sailors a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful 2019. That the best winds will provide the energy and spirit for a fantastic year for the whole fleet world wide. We received lovely pictures from teams training off Fremantle for the worlds in January. Among them our former IDA president Rob Campbell. Well done so far, friends 'Down Under' ! We will certainly do our utmost to provide every one the same warm welcome in Medemblik on 7 or 8 June 2019 for the 75th Dragon Gold Cup event. That is in our opinion: to enjoy what Dragon sailing is really all about. To have a few days of great sailing and to have fun together. Like it was in 1937 when the Clyde Yacht Clubs initiated this annual international get together in NW Europe. We are proud to have welcomed already 57 entries now at 31 December. There is still room (and plenty accommodation) for another 40-plus teams to achieve our target of 100 participants for this 75th Dragon Gold Cup Event.
PRESS RELEASE Amsterdam, 5 December 2018 The Dutch Dragon Class Association is proud to announce a high value partnership with YANMAR Co. Ltd. Yanmar will be the principal sponsor of the Dragon Gold Cup 2019, to be held in Medemblik, 9-14 June 2019.
Registration is well underway only 1 month after the opening of the website. It shows that the fleet loves to come to Medemblik with the races we offer and the good friendly atmosphere that will be there, fostered by a family of Corinthians. Don't wait too long with your registration and join the 75th Dragon Gold Cup event since 1937 as well. There is a limit. We are aiming at 100 Dragon teams from many countries. Registration is now close to 50 entries. It could have been more. In some cases this website seems to be inaccessible. We do not know the cause yet, but it appears that working via wifi and the internet sometimes presents the problem. Work around: try accessing the site via your cellular and 4G.
Classic Dragon NED 160 in modern outfit will join the Dragon Gold Cup again after 64 years since the Dragon Gold Cup 1955 in Holland.
